Celebrating the Feast Day of Mary Magdalene: A Journey into the Mystical

Today, we celebrate the Feast Day of Mary Magdalene, a figure shrouded in mystery and magic. Mary Magdalene, often misunderstood and misrepresented, was far more than the labels history has attempted to impose upon her. She was a disciple, a confidante, and a bearer of profound spiritual wisdom.

My own personal belief is that she is the feminine Christ and the lover of Christ. The force of Mary and Jesus came into divine union with the red and white springs. The masculine and feminine alchemy.

Once deemed as a sinner, overshadowing her true role as a devoted disciple and witness to the Resurrection, Mary of Magdala is mentioned many times throughout the bible.

Restoration of Her True Role

In 2016, Pope Francis elevated the liturgical memory of Mary Magdalene from a memorial to a feast, placing her on par with the apostles FINALLY!! This decision was part of a broader effort to restore her rightful place in the Christian tradition and to highlight her importance as the "Apostle to the Apostles." The decree issued by the Vatican emphasized her role as a witness to the risen Christ and a messenger of his Resurrection, reinforcing her significance in the early Church.

Who Was Mary Magdalene?

Mary Magdalene was a disciple of Jesus. According to the Gospel accounts, Jesus cleansed her of seven demons, and she financially aided him in Galilee. She was one of the witnesses of the Crucifixion and burial of Jesus and, famously, was the first person to see him after the Resurrection. Known as the "Apostle to the Apostles," Mary Magdalene's significance is undeniable, yet her story has been cloaked in mystery, inviting us to delve deeper into her true essence.

In 591, Pope Gregory I identified Mary Magdalene as a prostitute, conflating her with the sinful woman who anointed Jesus' feet with her tears. This misidentification has persisted for centuries, overshadowing her true role and contributions.

The Gospel of Mary: A Glimpse into the Divine

The Gospel of Mary, found in the Berlin Gnostic Codex (Papyrus Berolinensis 8502) offers a unique perspective on her spiritual insights. Discovered in 1896 AD near Akhmim in upper Egypt, this well-preserved codex (sacred text) reveals Mary Magdalene as a profound teacher and spiritual guide. Unfortunately, the surviving manuscript of the Gospel of Mary is missing pages 1 to 6 and pages 11 to 14, leaving portions of the text up to chapter 4 and parts of chapters 5 to 8 lost to history.

Despite these gaps, the Gospel of Mary provides a glimpse into her intimate understanding of divine love and her connection to the spiritual realm. It’s love that brings us closer to God, and Mary Magdalene's story embodies this truth, guiding us on our own spiritual journeys.

Why was she deemed a prostitute?

Why were pages of her gnostic bibles removed?

What are they hiding?

Why do they fear her?... Very interesting indeed!

Why Celebrate Mary Magdalene?

Mary Magdalene's feast day is a time to honor her unwavering faith, her deep spiritual insight, and her vital role in the Christian story. She represents the transformative power of divine love and the importance of women's contributions to the faith.

Celebrating her feast day invites us to reflect on her legacy, to seek the deeper truths within ourselves, and to embrace the mystical aspects of our spiritual journey.

For me personally, I see Mary Magdalene as a bearer of light and truth, unafraid to share the word of God. In the dark ages and even early modern ages women where not heard, they had no power, so I feel like this day of the feast is important for women remember the divine feminine, to speak truth and share light even if they feel intimidated.

Mary Magelenes legacy reminds us of the transformative power of love and the divine feminine energy. Let us embrace her teachings and connect with the powerful portal of the womb, where creation and transformation are born.

Today, let us honor Mary Magdalene, the beacon of divine love and spiritual wisdom. May her story inspire us to seek the mysteries within ourselves and celebrate the magic that lies in our own hearts.

May her story inspire us to connect with the sacred mysteries of our own hearts and to celebrate the magic that lies within.
